Almost since the beginning of formal religious life in the Church there have been individuals and groups of lay people who have allied themselves with particular religious communities in a variety of relationships. In recent years, many women and men have responded to God's call to associate themselves with hundreds of different communities world wide. In a relationship most often called "association." In each of the five (5) provinces of the Felician Congregation associate relationships are unique, continuously evolving forms. Some provinces have developed formal Associate Programs, others work with a variety of groups.
Chapter 14 of the Memoirs of the Felician Sisters, written in the 1800's, describes the existence of associates in the earliest days of the Congregation.
Even though the world is not yet inclined to understand the value of piety, a need is surfacing for fostering it. This is evident from the great number of souls from all walks of life, who, desirous of a life of piety, until now have associated themselves with the Congregation and who reap great spiritual benefits thereby . . .



"True piety" includes an awareness of God's presence and action in one's life, deliberate cultivation of one's spiritual life through personal and communal prayer, and striving to live the Gospel.

Prawie od samego początku istnienia życia zakonnego w Kościele, pojawiały się osoby indywidualne i całe grupy osób świeckich, które nawiązywały relacje z poszczególnymi wspólnotami zakonnymi. W ostatnich latach wiele osób, zarówno kobiet jak i mężczyzn, odpowiedziało na wezwanie Boga i zaczęło tworzyć tzw. „rodziny” przy różnych wspólnotach zakonnych z całego świata. W każdej z 5 prowincji Zgromadzenia Felicjanek tworzą się takie właśnie grupy. Są one wyjątkowe i stale się rozwijają. Niektóre prowincje opracowały formalne programy dla stowarzyszonych, inne natomiast pracują z różnymi grupami.

Rozdział XIV Pamiętnika Zgromadzenia napisanego w latach 1800-ych opisuje istnienie rodzin felicjańskich już w pierwszych latach Zgromadzenia.

Chociaż świat nie chce jeszcze zrozumieć pożytku pobożności, jednakże konieczność tej pracy wyraźnie daje się odczuwać. Widać to, zarówno z wielkiej liczby dusz wszelkiego stanu spragnionych pobożności, które dotąd otaczały to Zgromadzenie, jak i z wielkiego pożytku, jaki te dusze odnoszą . . .

„Prawdziwa pobożność” oznacza świadomość obecności Boga i Jego działania w życiu człowieka, przemyślany rozwój życia wewnętrznego przez modlitwę osobistą i wspólnotową oraz życie Ewangelią.

Associados Felicianos

Quase desde o início da vida religiosa formal na Igreja existiram indivíduos e grupos de leigos que se aliaram com comunidades religiosas específicas em uma variedade de relações. Em anos recentes, muitas mulheres e homens responderam ao chamado de Deus para se associarem com centenas de diferentes comunidades mundo a for a, em uma relação mais freqüentemente chamada de “associação”. Em cada uma das 5 províncias da Congregação Feliciana, a relação de associados são formas únicas e em constante evolução. Algumas províncias desenvolveram Programas de Associados formais, outras trabalham com uma variedade de grupos.

O Capítulo 14 das Memórias das Irmãs Felicianas (Memoirs of the Felician Sisters), escrita no século XIX, descreve a existência de associados desde os primórdios da Congregação.

Embora o mundo ainda não esteja inclinado a entender o valor da piedade, está surgindo uma necessidade de cultivá-la. Isto é evidente pelo grande número de almas de todas as classes sociais, que, desejosas de uma vida de piedade, se associaram à Congregação até agora e que colhem grandes benefícios espirituais dessa forma . . .

"Piedade verdadeira" inclui uma percepção da presença e da ação de Deus em nossas vidas, um cultivo deliberado de nossa vida espiritual através da oração pessoal e comunitária, e a busca de viver o Evangelho.
